Previously reserved for the classic sci-fi nerd, comic book movies and TV series are now more mainstream than ever. The rise of Marvel Studios and the more recent comeback of Sony Pictures (let’s leave 2002 Spider-Man in the past shall we) have taken the superhero world out of the geek den and transformed it into a multi-billion dollar industry. There are currently more comic book movies and TV series than ever before, with countless others to be released in the coming years. We’re seeing familiar faces returning for new series, and fresh heroes and villains securing their own feature films. Comic book sisters are certainly doin’ it for themselves at the minute, with Batwoman set to start her own series, Black Widow and Harley Quinn securing their own films, and Supergirl returning for a fifth season of her show.

2019 has already seen Avengers: Endgame, Pheonix and Spider-Man: Far from Home take to the big screen, but the year is far from over so let’s take a look at what else the comic book world has in store for us…
