Adam Driver has managed to become one of the most beloved villains of the past few years. The ex-marine portrayed the role of Kylo Ren to perfection and the new Star Wars trilogy became even more enjoyable due to his performance. However, according to Christian Alzmann, who is the concept artist for Lucasfilm, the badass villain was supposed to look much more different. For starters, his maks would have looked completely different as well his skin would be gray.

Alzmann decided to reveal to his Instagram followers how the character would have looked if the early concept wouldn’t have changed. Looking at the early design, we could all agree that he looking quite terrifying and that may have been incredible for some fans, the others are more than happy that Kylo Ren looks the way he does. The reason for that is the fact that he would end up looking like a copycat of Darth Vader. While it was important to stay loyal to the way that characters are designed in the Star Wars universe, a little variety makes everything look better.

It’s important to note that this design didn’t go to waste though since it eventually became as “The Fifth Brother”, who is a member of the elite squad of hunters, which are known as “The Inquisitors.” However, some tweaks were made, but the look still remains there. Looking back at the performances of Adam Driver and the early concept of Kylo Ren, it seems that it was much better that they didn’t decide to adopt that concept.  The main reason for that is the acting of Adam Driver, we’re not sure that we would be able to fully to enjoy the performance that he brought to the big screen.

Speaking of performances, we can’t wait to see Kylo Ren back in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which we will be able to see on December 20th. The Rise of Skywalker will conclude the Skywalker saga. Fans all over the world are thrilled to see Driver reprise the role of Kylo Ren. Judging by the success of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens which have earned $1.3 billion and $2.06 billion, it is safe to say that it will be one of the highest-grossing movies of all time.

What do you guys think, was the early design better or the one that they decided to use?
